OPIS, DTN, Platts & Argus Price Sheet Import
Energy Connect reads the price files you already receive, from OPIS, DTN, Platts and Argus and from your suppliers, and turns them into rack and index prices by terminal and product, instead of someone copying a price sheet into a spreadsheet every morning.
This is file import. Energy Connect does not subscribe to a price feed on your behalf: you upload the file that arrives under your own subscription, and Energy Connect parses it.
Formats it reads
| Source | File |
|---|---|
| OPIS | CSV or PDF |
| DTN | |
| Platts | CSV |
| Argus | CSV |
| Supplier price sheets | Supported CSV, PDF, XLSX and fixed-width text layouts |
| Price emails | A saved email (.eml) in a recognised supplier format |
The format can be detected from the file itself. A file in a layout Energy Connect does not recognise is rejected with a message rather than guessed at.
How an import runs
- Upload. In the portal, or through the public API.
- Preview. Every parsed row is shown before anything is saved.
- Map names once. A price sheet's terminal and product names rarely match yours. Save an alias for each and later imports use it.
- Commit. The prices are saved. A supplier can publish the imported sheet to its connected accounts in the same step.
What it is not
- Not a live feed. Prices change when a new file is imported.
- Not a data licence. Access to OPIS, DTN, Platts or Argus data comes from your own agreement with that publisher.
