Invoice Fuel Card & ACH Payments
An invoice issued in Energy Connect can be paid by card or by ACH bank transfer, and the payment runs through Invoice Fuel. The invoice, the payment and its status stay on the same record the load and the delivery ticket are on.
Energy Connect does not run its own payment rails. Invoice Fuel processes the charge; Energy Connect keeps the invoice and records what happened to it.
How a payment runs
| Card | ACH | |
|---|---|---|
| Payment method | Saved to the paying company | Saved to the paying company |
| After the charge | Recorded as soon as Invoice Fuel confirms it | Shows as pending until the bank transfer settles |
| Invoice status | Marked paid | Marked paid once settled |
Controls on moving money
- Charging an invoice needs a manager, and a fresh second factor at the moment of payment.
- Adding a payment method needs an admin of the paying company, and is always added to that company's own account.
- An invoice cannot be paid twice. A second charge is refused while a payment is processing or once one has succeeded.
Where payments show up
Payments are recorded against the invoice they paid, and both the issuing and the paying company can list them. The same payment records can be read through the public API.
